One of the events – called Son of a Pitch - had a more than expected winner in Daniela Couto from Cell2B. Described the organizers as "Biotech's Got Talent," it offered biotech start-ups, amongst others a chance to try out their pitches on five heavy venture capitalists, Aisling Capital, Lilly Ventures, Baxter International, Third Rock Ventures and CMEA Capital. All presumably have heard more than a few pitches from biotech startups seeking investments and strategic opportunities. Of course such an interesting panel brought a, predictable large number of willing participants, eager for the chance for 30 seconds in front of the panel.
